Great Pumpkin Hang
A New England fall tradition on 270 acres of private forest near Mt. Cardigan. Leaves, a mountain stream and a very welcoming host family.
The Great Pumpkin Hang happens on private family land between Cardigan Mountain and Newfound Lake, with AMC trails crossing the property. Camp sits a mile up a rough one lane logging road, with parking a short walk from the hang area. The land runs about 10 degrees colder than the forecast, so some years it feels like a winter hang. The 2026 edition ran October 2 to 4. Everyone is welcome, and cell service is spotty, so plan ahead.
