What is a hammock group hang?
A group hang is a campout where everyone sleeps in hammocks. Most are informal, low cost and organized by volunteers from the hammock camping community. Expect gear swaps, setup tips, potlucks, campfires and a lot of people happy to show you how their suspension works.
First time going?
- Check the registration link. Many hangs cap attendance or need a campsite reservation.
- Bring your full sleep system: hammock, straps, tarp and something warm underneath. Our hammock camping guide has a checklist.
- Wide tree straps only. Hangs depend on the campground inviting them back.
