HangCon
The biggest hammock gathering in the country, held every January in Brooksville, Florida. Hundreds of hangers fill the woods for a long weekend of gear, food and good company.
HangCon pulls in hammock campers from dozens of states for four nights at the Florida Sand Music Ranch. Expect vendor booths from cottage gear makers, a flea market and trading post, hang demos, classes, guided hikes and paddling trips nearby. Organizers have historically served group breakfasts and dinners, funded by raffle tickets and vendor donations. First timers and the hammock curious are very welcome, and plenty of people come just to try gear before they buy. Bring your hammock, a warm underquilt for chilly Florida nights, and something to share at the fire.
