Palmetto State Hangers Frozen Butt Hang
South Carolina's winter hang at Sesqui State Park in Columbia, famous for its pig roast and white elephant swap.
The Palmetto State Hangers have run the Frozen Butt Hang at Sesquicentennial State Park, right off I-20, for years. Past editions drew dozens of hangers and featured a big hog roast, door prizes, a white elephant gift exchange and ice cream. The 2026 edition ran February 5 to 8. It is car camping close to the city, so it is an easy first winter hang. Bring a white elephant gift and a warm quilt.
