SoCal Hangers Spring Hang (Oh May, Oh My)
Southern California's long running spring hang in the pines of the San Bernardino National Forest. In 2026 it ran as HangCon California.
The SoCal Hangers have hosted their Oh May, Oh My hang for over a decade, most recently at the Lobo and Oso group campgrounds around 6,400 feet. Past schedules included a knots clinic, craft workshops, a potluck dinner and a raffle, with no entry fee. The 2026 edition was billed as HangCon California, June 11 to 14, and drew people from seven states plus cottage vendors like Dutchware. Days are mild and nights dip into the 40s, so pack a real underquilt. Great for West Coast hangers who cannot make it to Florida.

Yes in park campgrounds, as long as you pad the trees, skip oak trees and keep it from becoming a hazard.

Unclear. The park does not publish a hammock rule, and California State Parks protects all trees, so ask the campground before you hang.
