Nikolaus Hang
A December hammock weekend in the sandy pine hills of Lower Saxony, with Christmas decorations, communal cooking and St. Nicholas gifts.
German hangers meet at the Sager Schweiz scout education center near Grossenkneten for a festive early winter weekend. The wooded, sandy hills allow campfires, and the plan includes shared cooking and holiday decorations in camp. It is reachable by train, about a 15 to 20 minute walk from Grossenkneten station. Costs are split among attendees, similar to the Harz hang. Bring winter quilts and a small gift for St. Nicholas Day.
